Welcome back for another round, raucous revenants!
Our recommendation for this week is Midnight Marinara, a horror anthology podcast produced by David King. Midnight Marinara ran for exactly 10 years, from Halloween 2013 to Halloween 2023.
Covering a wide range of stories from different authors, each of the 70 episodes offers something different, with earlier episodes focusing on creepypastas and later ones branching out to include other types of short horror stories, including some adaptations of classics.
Midnight Marinara stood out from many of the other horror audio creators of the time by focusing on quality over quality, featuring an array of talented voice actors and effective SFX and music to heighten the episodes.
Re-listening to the podcast has become an October tradition for me, and personal favourite episodes include ‘Three Skeleton Key’, ‘Free Burgers for Life’ and ‘The Cremation of Sam McGee’.
